Hamas leader collapses at rally

Jerusalem Post:
Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh collapsed on Friday during his speech at the rally in Gaza in support of Hamas and its beleaguered government.

Haniyeh, who is fasting during Ramadan, stopped speaking in mid-sentence and collapsed onto aides standing next to him as he addressed tens of thousands of Palestinians that had gathered in a Gaza Strip soccer stadium.

Update. Watch the BBC report here (RealPlayer). BBC anchorman:
If we were talking here about an Israeli prime minister for example one would assume that he would have the best of medical care available just an arm’s length away.

"If we were talking here about an Israeli prime minister for example one would assume that he would have the best of medical care available just an arm’s length away."

And...?

Could this be because Israel produces excellent doctors and that country has highly efficient, modern and effective A&E system?

So what the fuck has Israeli medical expertise got to do with this chap collapsing?

anonymous 2:11 - Of course. We weren't "talking about an Israeli prime minister" so this is relevant in what way?

He's not an Israeli prime minister and he's not in Israel.

So he collapsed. This is bad news?

In case there's any confusion, that's the point I was making by highlighting that extract.

Look - what is the state of this guy's health? Has he stopped polluting the earth with his presence yet?

Look DFH, whatever you say, it must be the fault of the Israelis: why, for instance, was there not a fully manned first aid post (manned by Israeli medical personnel) within yards of the platform? Where was the helicopter to airlift Haniyeh to an Israeli hospital? Why did the Israelis not insist that the curbs on eating during Ramadan were lifted for the PA prime minister? You see, it's really all the fault of the Israelis: BTW this is not anti-Jewish, it's purely a condemnation of Israel.

Trust the BBC journalist to describe the speech as

"A very strong speech criticising the opponents of the Hamas Government"

i.e. 'Death to the Zionist monkeys! Death to America! Death to Britain! Death to the EU! Death to the Kaffir!'

and if this had been a British Prime minister …?

Actually he did have the best of medical care close at hand. If he wasn't determined to desroy the country, he, like tens of thousands of Palestinians could have used Israel's medical facilities.

I don't assume bias - just two deadheads trying to fill dead air!

I can't help remembering that when Sharon collapsed he didn't have a medic close at hand and he didn't get airlifted to hospital as he should have been. Things might well have turned out differently if he'd had better care. Even hi tech Israel does screw up. (and the BBC deadheads are indulging in stereotypical BS).
