Westminster Cathedral demo - update

As I thought - yesterday's Muslim demo outside Westminster Cathedral was indeed the work of followers of banned organisation Al-Ghurabaa. From the Daily Mail:
A notorious Muslim extremist told a demonstration in London yesterday that the Pope should face execution.

Anjem Choudary said those who insulted Islam would be "subject to capital punishment".

His remarks came during a protest outside Westminster Cathedral on a day that worldwide anger among Muslim hardliners towards Pope Benedict XVI appeared to deepen...

A nun was shot dead in Somalia by Islamic gunmen and churches came under attack in Palestine.

Choudary's appeal for the death of Pope Benedict was the second time he has been linked with apparent incitement to murder within a year.

The 39-year-old lawyer organised demonstrations against the publication of cartoons of Mohammed in February in Denmark. Protesters carried placards declaring "Behead Those Who Insult Islam".

Yesterday he said: "The Muslims take their religion very seriously and non-Muslims must appreciate that and that must also understand that there may be serious consequences if you insult Islam and the prophet.

"Whoever insults the message of Mohammed is going to be subject to capital punishment."

He added: "I am here have a peaceful demonstration. But there may be people in Italy or other parts of the world who would carry that out.

"I think that warning needs to be understood by all people who want to insult Islam and want to insult the prophet of Islam."...

A Scotland Yard spokesman said of his comments: "We have had no complaints about this. There were around 100 people at the demonstration. It passed off peacefully and there were no arrests."
Call on the Pope to be killed and the police turn a deaf ear. Quote a passage from the Bible and feel the full force of the law.

Is Westminster Cath inside the SOCPA zone? (nearby Horseferry Road magistrate's court is: c.f. Brian Haw)

If so, did the organisers get permission from police for the protest?

It is hard to credit that the question of Designated Area is being discussed while you have mediaeval illiterates creating mayhem & preaching murder in your country.
Going to hell in a handcart must be done correctly though....right chaps?
Excuse me while I go & throw up.

I've been waiting for a pronouncement from the head of the Anglican church on the Pope's little problem with islam. Here it is.

And it's a cracker.

"The Pope has already issued an apology and I think his views on this need to be judged against his entire record, where he has spoken very positively about dialogue," Williams said.

--- so it was just a lapse of judgement from someone who should have known better, and now he's said he's sorry about the fuss that should be an end of it. Thanks Rowan.

"There are elements in Islam that can be used to justify violence, just as there are in Christianity and Judaism," Williams said.

--- nothing to choose between them, we've all got our nutters, listen to the moderates

Custard pies could have been invented for him.

This fascist and extremely ugly - god, they're awful looking people, aren't they? - said: "The Muslims take their religion very seriously (no shit, Sherlock! and non-Muslims must appreciate that and must also understand that there may be serious consequences if you insult Islam and the prophet."

The serious consequences to this criminal should be deportation after serving a prison sentence for threatening behaviour. Who is failing to give the correct orders at the Met?

Force to the Pope! Finnaly, a man who are, more than a preacher, but also a LEADER - Benedict XVI just said the crude truth, only revealing the tip of the iceberg about "Mo, the Pedophile"

and remembering: NO true religion has the right to make a war - and NO WAR IS HOLY - as the magnificent Bill O'Reilly told on Fox News
interviewing a muslim woman, about violence that commanded Islam expansion: "I know, it, you know it, everybody knows."

He said "if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, then it’s a DUCK"!

YEAH!

…and I want see (and we’re seeing) that psicho mad dogs DISCREDITED, caught in self-contradiction: thrown fire bombs in Gaza churchs, killed a nun in Somalia, menace attack Vaticano and trying kill the Pope - why? - because they didn’t like hearing their religion is ‘evil and violent’…

Pathological muslins are so sick and scurvy, they’re pathetic…

7 churches as of this morning, one nun killed, the Pope apologizes for the REACTION to his comments, NOT his comments. Stand firm pope.

I think Choudary should be sentenced to capital punishment for being too ugly to live. His face is offence against humanity. I take aesthetics very seriously and islamic nutjobs must appreciate that.

As I recall, when the Met was inundated with complaints following the February cartoon demo, the response was that only people who were actually present at the demo could complain. Accordingly, sending a mass of emails to Sir Ian will only get one result - a list of troublemakers' email addresses for the police to put on some list headed "to be rounded up when sharia law comes in"

umbong - Agreed. I would not trust the Met. They're on the side of the enemy.

I wish I'd read what umbongo said before I emailed the Met - oh well.

sir,

I wish to lodge a complaint concerning the protest held on Sunday 17th September 2006 outside Westminster Cathedral.

I find the statements made by Mr Anjem Choudhary offensive, derogatory and insulting. According to news reports he allegedly said 'whoever insults the message of mohammed is going to be subject to capital punishment'.

As there is no capital punishment in this country I take him to mean ' there is going to be summary murder'.

He also allegedly said, 'I am here have a peaceful demonstration. But there may be people in Italy or other parts of the world who would carry that out. I think that warning needs to be understood by all people who want to insult Islam and want to insult the prophet of islam'.

I take this to mean 'don't insult islam or you will be killed'.

This appears to be in response to an obscure theological paper from the Pope.

I feel that the demonstration, held allegedly by the banned muslim group Al Ghurabaa and by masked people holding anti-Christian placards, was a clear incitement to violence and a thinly veiled threat to kill the Pope and anyone else perceived to 'insult' islam.

sir, this is not the first time muslims have demonstrated and voiced an exhortation to kill people. You are aware, I'm sure, of the perception that the police tend to 'go easy' on muslims while non-muslims, and especially Christians, feel the heavy hand of the Law. I hope you take this opportunity to apply the Law equibly and visibly.

sir, I urge you instigate a full investigation of the demonstration organisers, what was said and what was the intended meaning to be conveyed to the Pope and public.

respectfully yours.

Will some brave Catholic souls stand outside Regent's Park mosque during Friday prayers, holding banners declaring 'Mohammad was a rapist', 'Mohammad was a paedophile', 'To hell with Islam', and 'Muslims Muslims you will pay, Cormack Murphy O'Connor is on his way'?

Any apology from the MCB yet?

Mohammad makes that kidnapper of that Austrian girl at age 10 look like just a normal guy. A little six-year-old girl taken from her toys and told to hurry up, running to keep up with her mother, to be delivered to a sex sickie. This episode is in their koran, so they seem to feel it's no big deal. He didn't screw this little girl (he was aged 53 when he had her grabbed) until she was nine and he was 56.

At the bottom on the "This is London" story where Muslims are calling for the death of the pope, there is a link to send feedback.

It might be worth pointing the discrepency out to them.

Lahoud was in the audience Tuesday, Sept 19, when President George W. Bush spoke of the “state within a state” created by Hizballah at the opening of the 61st United Nations General Assembly session in New York.

In Beirut’s Dahya district, bulldozers are clearing the rubble left by Israeli air strikes on the Hizballah stronghold ready for Nasrallah’s “victory speech” Friday, Sept 22 (eve of the Israeli New Year festival), after the last Israeli soldier quits Lebanon for the second time in six years. Speaking behind armored glass, the Hizballah leader will sneer at the Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert’s taunt earlier this month that while he was free to address half a million people, Nasrallah lurked in a bunker.

A giant screen will back his podium showing Hizballah fighters shooting rockets, damaged Israeli tanks and, most of all, portrayals of himself lounging in the sculptured terraced gardens of the presidential palace in Baabde, just outside Beirut.

DEBKAfile’s intelligence sources now disclose that when Olmert depicted the Hizballah leader as hiding underground and scared to come out, he and his personal command were in fact the guests of President Lahoud, who was ordered to open the palace to them by Damascus. It was from there that he orchestrated a part of the war under the personal protection of Lahoud and Syrian military intelligence.

Israeli generals, after receiving information from intelligence about his whereabouts, could have had the presidential palace bombed or accepted the fact that their prey had again slipped out of reach. Government leaders in Jerusalem held back on the order for an aerial strike for fear of igniting a military clash with Syria. Instead, Israeli warplanes pummeled a Lebanese army camp near the presidential palace without advance warning.
