The Sleeping Giant

In response to the Open Letter to Mr Blair from the British Muslim Community comes an Open Letter to Tony Blair from the Silenced Majority:
So when the Muslim groups talk of Britain's policies being "ammunition to extremists," what they mean is that Britain must suspend all support for Israel and continue as before in the connivance with Arab and Muslim states for the destruction of the Jewish people.

And on this constant threat of the "radicalization" of the Arab and Muslim street, I should remind the Muslim groups, and indeed Muslim countries and communities around the world, of Dryden's warning — "beware the fury of a patient man."

It is the Arab and Muslim "street" that should be worried about the peoples of the West becoming "radicalized" by the incessant provocations and support for the murder and terror inflicted on the Jewish people in particular, and the West in general.

The Arab and Muslim "street" would do well to remember the words of Admiral Yamamoto after the Japanese attack on Pearl Habor: "I fear we have awoken a sleeping giant and have instilled in him a terrible resolve."

– John Campbell
I hope he's right.

And talking of silent majority, what of this piece of news about Iran and Turkey (both muslim countries) shelling Kurds positions from across their border?,,1852668,00.html

Anyone heard any Muslims complaining about the oppression of their brothers and sisters there?

Compare and contrast with the Israel/Hezbollah affair...

Also note the tone of the Guardian piece clearly sympathetic to Iran and Turkey and quoting the 'poor farmers' caught in the cross-fire.

And then we hear endless rants from Muslims about double standards...

"I hope he's right".

I think he is.

Speaking (typing) as one of the "little people" i.e. an ordinary woman; a non-political animal, and generally tolerant and laid back I have become increasingly angry at what is happening.

Plus the emergence of blogs such as yours and the increasing numbers of "ordinary" people like me that read them and yes, I think that the Sleeping Giant is going to awaken ...

Spot on La B. I was never really into Blogs before this current conflict. It's was really only UK MSM coverage that drew me over. Don't say they never have a positive effect.

PS. Were can we sign the letter

The biggest cheer on Question Time on R4 last night was when Digby Jones said something along the lines of "we need to stop pandering to PC rubbish about profiling. Asian Muslims aged 18-40 tend to be terrorists, they need targeting"

Needless to say the discussion was moved swiftly on.

I'm sure he is.

These so called Muslim leaders are making a big mistake. I don't intend to live in a country where "different" people have different rights and rules.

I'm not prepared to have what little say I have (the same as most of us in a democracy) in the running of the country and its foreign policy negated just because some fools want to blow themselves up.

It's disgraceful the way they attempt to intimidate and threaten, but ultimately, "threatened folk live long". If they think we in England are weak and prepared to submit ourselves to their desires; I think they're going to find out just how wrong they are.

I'm an American, but in conversations with friends from the UK, we've come to one conclusion. Right now, 2006, this very moment is the do or die time for the UK. This is the moment in which the people rise up against Islam or be overrun by it.

Some encouraging news has been that the government is no longer going to search 80 year old ladies and is going to profile the muslims which is good. Also in the news today a very interesting story about citizens of the UK having a mutiny on their flight. The Mutiny of flight 613, ordinary civilians just got up and left the plane and refused to fly because muslims were aboard. If they people rise up the government has got to listen.
