Birds of a feather

A publicly-funded news organisation which is biased against Israel? Surely not! From the Australia/Israel & Jewish Affairs Council Review:
Undoubtedly the media coverage of Israel’s war against Hezbollah could have been greatly improved, with the very honourable exception of The Australian. By a mile, the worst outlet in the electronic sphere was SBS-TV News.
And what in particular has SBS done to earn the title of Australia's "worst outlet"?
SBS-TV News has made extensive use of reports from Lebanon by BBC reporters...
Yup, that would do it.

(I'm gratified to see that my analysis of Orla Guerin's Bint Jbeil report is given as an example.)

Orla Guerin's Bint Jbeil report of August 15. Hi DFH, since reading your analysis of Bint Jbeil reported by Orla Guerin (biased and defamatory) I lodged a written complaint with SBS who screened her reporting. I quoted your blog and sent them a printed copy of your evidence. They would not repond to emails. The complaint is being investigated by the "Office of Audience Affairs" at SBS. I am awaiting a reply. Thanks to you, DFH, Guerin has been exposed! She is shown to be totally biased and deceitful. Also, I alerted the local Government station, ABC, with this complaint as they have a program called "Media Watch" which claims to disect inaccurate reporting of news stories in the written and electonic media. I have not received a response from them.
I will keep you informed. Keep up the good blogging.

Yes, this is a well deserved comment. SBS has been very biased in the way that it reported the war. I have friends who rely heavily on SBS to the point that they believe everything that is said by the journalists. From their point of view Israel is the villain. This is a sign of very bad reporting.
