Religious leader won't issue fatwa

From yesterday’s Sunday Times:
“THE Bishop of London has declared it sinful for people to contribute to climate change by flying on holiday, driving a “gas-guzzling” car or failing to use energy-saving measures in the home...”
He was on Radio 4 this morning discussing his views (listen here, streaming RAM):
“Obviously it’s not my position to issue fatwas against flying just like that… I don’t want to issue fatwas, because some people need large cars...”
Why the hell is the Bishop of London using the term fatwa?

The Church of England gets more pathetic by the day.

(And as for my holiday plans, my car and my home - the bishop can mind his own bloody business.)

I thought imams issued fatwas. Does he think he's one then? What about flying planes into buildings, does that count as sinful? Dipstick.

What a plonker!

I read the article in the ST yesterday on a plane returning from a short holiday and felt very smug indeed.

The Bishop of London is talking of issuing fatwahs? Is he mad? Does he know which religion he works for?

If he does decide to issue "a fatwah", will he be sending death squads to blow up airports and passengers? Is he completely ga-ga?

Is this the same Bishop of London who last year was on a holiday cruise ship and unavailable to his flock at the most important time in the Christian calender?
No doubt he walked there.

Good grief people, haven't you read the tenth commandment:

Thou shalt not cover T'neighbour's house.

Obviously you can only cover it in some kind of flying machine.
