Menezes Vigil

Looks like a good turnout.

It’s a shame the world’s media isn’t as interested in the thousands of deaths caused by Brazilian police.

I see the little Forest Gates shits were there, posing for the cameras, in their fight against British injustice.

Al-Be'eb had two Menezes items on the front page of its site. One is the "vigil" and the other is how sad the Menezes family is.

I seem to be the only person in the (comparatively)sane world of conservative blogging who is not convinced of this guy's innocence.

First, he was an illegal. He had overstayed his visa by two years. He should have renewed it or gone back to the tranquility and safety of being protected by the Brazilian police. Then he wouldn't be dead. Or at least not at the hands of the British police.

As was the BBC's favourite Islamist (aka Justice4Jean campaign organiser), Asad Rehman, who tells us that some of the Brazilian electrician's family would also be attending the Stop The War Coalition march in London.

"That's a fitting tribute to Jean. He would have been on that protest and we feel people should go on that protest."

He (and his ilk) is not so much an ambulance-chaser as a hearse-chaser. Note how the grubby politicos at the Stop the War coalition only show any concern for soldiers when they're dead? He is the same with Menezes. What a complete wanker he is.

There is no material difference between Rehman's lot and the BNP - they latch onto people's grievances and feelings of injustice and exploit them for their own political gain.

And the BBC portrays people like Rehman as concerned citizens with no axes to grind or agendas to pursue.

Excellently said, Clematis.

Verity - shooting people who overstay visas? Fuck's sake, no!

Calm down, DFH - I said no such thing. I said if he hadn't overstayed his visa by two years, he'd still be alive because he wouldn't have been in that spot at that time. It was that he was in Britain illegally that allowed the mistake (if it was a mistake, and I am not convinced) to be made.

I do like guns, but there are limits.

Who is paying for all the Menezes's family who appear to be in UK on a permanent basis. I thought these were poor folk.
