Don't try this at home

It appears that the BBC's Have Your Say moderators don't like the word "dhimmi".

Strange, then, that the BBC itself uses it here, here and here.

Are BBC employees who have completed the necessary diversity seminars the only people qualified to employ such 'controversial' terms?

I can only presume the BBC deems the word 'dhimmi' to be offensive.

Offensive to whom, one wonders?

I find the concept of dhimmitude offensive - it is a variation on apartheid - but the word itself is perfectly legitimate.

From now on, I am going to post as Dhimmi Hendrix on every BBC message board.
