Breaking news - Al-Zarqawi killed

MSNBC:
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Al-Qaida in Iraq leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was killed overnight in an operation by U.S. Special Operations Forces, U.S. military officials told NBC News on Thursday.
I hope this is true. Wonderful news.

Update 8.50am. Just heard Iraqi PM Nouri Maliki's press conference on the radio. They got him! The bastard is dead.

I sincerely hope he had a painful death.

Link to the BBC's obituary on him (!)

Note: the words "murderer" and "terrorist" do not appear. What a surprise.

rog - I second the "painful death" bit, Rog. I hope he had an instant of terrible fear. ("Oh, wait a minute! Did I do the right thing by murdering all those people? Do I get a moment to reconsider? Can I live for another 20 years and make amends? Aaaaaarrrrgggggh!")
