Wayne Who?

I hope someone posts footage of Boris Johnson’s attempted tackle during tonight’s England/Germany charity football match. It was the funniest thing I’ve seen in ages. For those who missed it, the MP for Henley ran forward to challenge for the ball, stumbled, and ended up flooring former German international Maurizio Gaudino with a rugby tackle. It was priceless. The crowd loved it too - chants of “Boris! Boris!” rang out and he was cheered every time he went anywhere near the ball. And what's more:
Mr Johnson said beforehand that his metatarsals were in good shape.

Update
. Via the Telegraph - here's the tackle:

Update. And video!

He bears a striking resemblance to Psycho.

Stuart Pearce's tackling was similarly 'robust', though Boris makes more contact with the ball than Pearce used to.
