Ms Toynbee's knowledge appears to know no bounds, so obviously I would be inclined to believe her rather than a 'right-wing', 'Islamophobic', 'white' Scandinavifascist who happens to live near Sweden.
As any fule no, the ambience of the ivory towers of The Guardian and BBC studios gives people special powers with which they can pronounce with authority on any subject.

Has anyone some information on what's happening to the Icelandic economy?
It seems to be having "interesting times"?
