Chelsea/Man Utd - Rooney has just been stretchered off, John Terry is limping around like a cripple, and England's first World Cup game is in six weeks.

Yeah, they've just interviewed Joe Cole on R5L - reckons physio says it's not serious, Terry OK too.

Wouldn't place any bets though. Rooney needs to get some money back from his bookie. In his position I'd pretend to be beyond repair, let the England price drift (which it already has by half a point on Betfair - 15/2ish to 8/1 since he was carried off), back England, announce I was OK and then lay off my bets when the price fell again. Or something like that.

And if I win the lottery...

While I was writing that all the 8/1 went - now 7.8 is the best on offer. Just shows how important Rooney is.

If Rooney can't make it, don't worry. Peter Crouch will win it for England.

No, I'm steering clear of the Rooney futures market for the time being.

Why, got any tips?

Peter Crouch. Ha ha!

"They think it's all over. Crouch is on the pitch. Oh dear, it is now."
