The Muslim Boys in Belmarsh

Last month Anne Owers, Chief Inspector of Prisons, said of Muslim prisoners in Belmarsh:
"ordinary social and religious behaviour on their part was misinterpreted by staff as problematic."
Judging by this story in yesterday's Daily Mirror, it looks like some members of staff are still misinterpreting "ordinary social and religious behaviour" as problematic:
WARDENS fought with the Islamic gangsters terrorising Belmarsh Prison after they attacked a member who wanted to quit.

And Belmarsh insiders last night claimed the incident shows staff are having difficulty coping with the thugs' reign of terror.

In the latest in a long series of violent outbursts, eight members of the Muslim Boys gang pounced on a man in a toilet.

The victim, who had said he was leaving the al-Qaeda-linked gang, suffered head injuries. Officers had to wade in to break up the Good Friday attack
It really is inexcusable that wardens should act in this way. I do hope Ms Owers has been made aware.
