Falconer: "Not today, not tomorrow"

The UK's non-elected Scottish-born Minister for Constitutional Affairs Lord Falconer is giving a speech today telling the uppity English that the government has no intention of redressing England’s democratic deficit, “not today, not tomorrow.” Gareth has more over at the CEP, including observations on the BBC’s reporting of the issue. Playing the role of independent expert for the Beeb is Robert Hazel, the director of the Constitution Unit. Hazel has his own agenda - he wants to see England broken down into regions, and as I have noted before the CU is part-funded by government, and its researchers have strong ties to the Labour Party.
