Don't mention the 'E' word

David Miliband and Oliver Lewtin were on the Today programme (streaming RAM) this morning to discuss Labour’s latest headline-seeking smoke and mirrors exercise - “double devolution”. This ludicrous buzz phrase is the name Miliband has given to his proposals for addressing society’s "power gap" through "people power". Nick Robinson offers his thoughts on what it all might mean, but I'm far more cynical and foresee a proliferation of non-elected mini-quangos filled with New Labour apparatchiks. Laban Tall is unimpressed too.

One word that Miliband, Letwin and John Humphrys did not mention during their discussion on devolution and disempowerment was "England".
